DINING –
The Tower District, beautifully renovated, is mere minutes away. The Tower District provides a variety of dining experiences. There is everything from traditional fine dining to a great burger. An aromatic Deli that was established in the early 20’s, a 1950’s Family Style Diner, well known coffee and tea houses, authentic Chinese, a newly remodeled sushi bar, a unique local brewery that serves up great food as well, have your hot salsa either with your dinner or on the dance floor and if that isn’t hot enough try the new Brazilian restaurant. The Tower has something for kids of all ages.
There are also several nearby fast food or family dining establishments you can enjoy.
THEATER –
Second Space offer local talents with live on stage performances.
The Tower Theater, historically restored, promotes local and well known popular musicians.
LOCAL ATTRACTIONS –
Roeding Park is just 2 miles from New Horizons. Beautifully landscaped on 157 acres with cool blue lakes, huge groves of trees, rolling green lawns, and dotted by flower gardens, the park contains eight championship tennis courts, two dance pavilions, horseshoe pits, slides and playgrounds, and many picnic areas, complete with picnic tables, and barbecue pits.
Fresno Chaffee Zoo, located in Roeding Park, is open every day of the year from 9 am to 4 pm. Interact with the Stingrays at Stingray Bay or feed the giraffes. The zoo hosts several new features and displays thanks to Stan & Anna Hugh, who come here to New Horizons yearly with their passion to illustrate the evolution of exhibit works so the animals are in the most natural of habitats.
Rotary Playland is open daily March 15 through Ocotber 15 from 10am to 5:30pm and Weekends November through January from 10am to 5pm.
Forestiere Underground Gardens: A 40-year labor of love. Originally 10 acres underground garden. Patterned after the ancient catacombs with fruit-bearing trees and grapes growing beneath the surface. Three spectacular levels of a rustic underground oasis of a by-gone era.
Chukchansi Stadium: Our mild summer evenings make for an enjoyable
outing of AAA baseball for the whole family. This stadium also hosts top name concerts, food cook-offs, Christian events large gatherings and more.
Fresno Art Museum offers exhibitions and activities that all will enjoy.
Island Water Park: Provides a cool getaway from the summer heat.
Black Beards: Where families go to have FUN!
Chukchansi Hotel/ Resort and Table Mountain Casino are a relaxing 45 minute drive to the foothills. Enjoy their incredible buffets and entertainment.
Yosemite, Sequoia, or Kings Canyon National Forests is a scenic one hour drive. Visit Yosemite and find out why John Muir fell in love with this jewel in the raw. Stand in awe of the majestic Sequoia trees in the Sequoia National Forrest. Don’t forget to spend a little time admiring the natural beauty of King’s Canyon National Forrest adjacent to Sequoia National Forest.
Millerton Dam is thirty minutes away. Enjoy a picnic, swimming, or fishing.
Bass Lake is located in the beautiful Sierra Mountain Range. This area provides excellent fishing and boating for the outdoor enthusiast.
